Share a time you turned social capital into social income

I would love to hear about a time you were able to get someone to help you out. Whether it's a first degree contact or further down the line I like to know what you went through. Thanks JP

When I first came to Canada, I was welcomed by a relative (2nd degree contact), who is a cousin of my mother. They welcomed us, me and my wife, and provided accommodation to us for two months, as well as requested their relative (3rd degree contact) to consider me for a lucrative factory job. Because of these contacts, I was on a job within three week of my immigration to Canada. The lesson I've learned was that one of the strongest social capital could be your immediate and associated relatives. Social relations are your social capital and if used wisely could lead to social income.
